DMS hide characteristic dependent fo other characteristic

In DMS we have several characteristics and some of them I want to show in CV01N dependent of a value of another characteristic in the same class. For Example, we have a class Z_CLASS with 3 characteristics TYPE, DIAMETER, WIDTH. When i choose TYPE Z, I only want to see the characteristic DIAMETER, and for TYPE A I want to see DIAMETER and WIDTH. I did see examples of an extra characteristic with structure SCREEN_DEP but this works with material-classes but not with document class 017. Can anyone tell me if this is possible ?
