VS2008 Crystal reports issues when deployed on Windows server 2016

Hi,

We have VS2008 application using crystal reports. This was deployed on windows server 2008 r2. This was working well and we don't have any issues. We moved the application to windows server 2016. We are having issues with the crystal reports. I installed the crystal reports redistributable for VS2008 on this new server. Whenever, i try to access the reports, i am getting the following error.

An error has occurred while attempting to load the Crystal Reports runtime. Either the Crystal Reports registry key permissions are insufficient or the Crystal Reports runtime is not installed correctly. Please install the appropriate Crystal Reports redistributable (CRRedist*.msi) containing the correct version of the Crystal Reports runtime (x86, x64, or Itanium) required. Please go to http://www.businessobjects.com/support for more information. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Did you have Administrator rights on the server when you installed the runtime? Did you right-click on the installer and select "Run as Administrator"? If the answer to either of these is "no", that's probably your problem.

Having said that, this version of the runtime was never designed to be compatible with Windows Server 2016 and it is no longer being updated. Unfortunately, you may have to upgrade the application to a newer version of Visual Studio so that you can use the newer version of the Crystal SDK to get this working.
