I am trying to understand how SAPScript is supported with S/4HANA.
I see from SAP Note 2228611 - Output Management in SAP S/4HANA that it says SAPScript is a supported technology, however some colleagues tell me that it is not supported in all cases within S/4HANA, and so I am trying to understand what these possible limitations are.
Example given, if we use Fiori Apps, then SAPScript is not possible (?)
Also do the changes to such things as the number of characters in Material Master have an impact?
Appreciate any insight given.
Thanks
Hello Laura,
Note 2228611 is only relevant for applications which have adopted to S/4HANA output management. So it’s not a definite answer for all applications in S/4HANA.
However for all applications in S/4HANA the existing output solution from ERP/Business Suite still exists and can be used, unless there is a specific simplification item. For some applications the S/4HANA output management can be optionally enabled.
When enabled, S/4HANA output management supports SAPscript by default for all applications which previously used the NAST output control. Others, like correspondence, would need to explicitly enable this support. Also some adoption the print program might be necessary to be compliant with the new framework. See note 2294198.
See my answer to your other question regarding SAPscript and Fiori.
Best regards,
Markus Berg
