Upgradation from 4.6C to ECC 6.0

hi abapers,

During upgradation from 4.6c to ECC 6.0 .There will be many errors occuring in new version due to upgradation.Like need to replace some ABAP statements in new version in every Y or Z programs.do we need to replace all that abap statements manually?or is there any facility/utility SAP provides for that ?

Points will be rewarded for correct answer.

    Hi,

As this ECC Versions allow only Unicode compatible code so there will be some changes the syntax of the old version's programs ( Y & Z Programs ).Here we need to rectify them manually in these programs using insert and replace options in the editor screen.

Here instead of going each program and checking for syntax takes more time.To cross over this one We have Tcode UCCHECK . By this we can upload n number of programs at a time.

When you execute this one it will displays all the statements which are having syntax differenciations program wise.

Then you can modify the Code of the programs and make them useful in upgraded version.

    Hi ,

The Z and Y pgms are created by ABAPer and strictly as per the requirments of vertical Industry. So, in any Case SAP will not let u provide any solution for that, you need to update it manually.

Since , I had face the same Problem, i tried using "UCCHECK", But it didnt worked out in Many cases.

The major Problem you will face in Pgm, I had list out below.

1> Call function with parameteR passing as table, should not have " [ ] " as we use in 4.6C.

2> select single * from MAKT where matnr = v_matnr.

will not do , unless u explicilty mention target or define as Tables in Data Defintion.

And such many U will face, Similarly, in Upgration the rpts which has nill usage will come out as a result you scrap the report and redefine it giving more result.
