Overlapping in Routing

Hi all ,

i have three operations in Routing as follows :

OPR Workcenter setup machine labor

0010 Man1 0 0 600 min

0020 Mach1 0 600 0

0030 Man2 0 0 600 min

Now if i am scheduling forward (all the workcenter available in time 09:30 to 17.30 with ) i tried with required overlapping for all three operation , but with what logic it will overlap ,

As the third operation, starting 09.30 but finishing after 2 days. (it is considering 1200 min )

plz guide .

Hi,

Overlapping means the operation will start before completion of the previous opn.

Overlapping assigned in reduction strategy.

When the operation lead time exceeds the basic dates, system try to reduce the lead time by using reduction strategy.

Overlapping is one of the function in reduction strategy.

In tcode OPU5, OPU3 - planned & production scheduling parameters reduction level defined.

So according to this level system will reduce the lead time.

Pl try for the above ex. i am not getting the Logic at what time the Previous Operation will ovelap the next operation ,how the overlapping time is calculated by the sys?

Pl guide , as the material available in SAP Library is not sufficient for the same . Pl guide with ex and the scheduling in CA02 .

Hi ,

create routing with operation 10 & 20 as parellel operations and once operation 30 is over after 2

days .

Generally system schedules the opeartion within the break time also if not set "scheduling with break" at OPU3.Here system distributes the Break time evenly over the day, that is your are getting Extra float time in each opeartion segment.

To get exact opreation time plz follow below steps.

1.Remove the the "Lenth of break time" from capacity view , Now create order the schedule and Now system schedule with exact opration time.

or

2. if u want to keep the break time, then create shift sequence and assign tio capacity header of workcenter. Set the "scheduling with break" at OPU3 .

Now the sytem will not schedule the opeartion within the break time, so it consider the break time , Now ill get exact opreation time.

Note:For scheduling with breaks to occur, an active version of the available capacity must have been entered in the work center.
