Is there a way in Afaria to restrict the settings in ios/android devices?

Hi All,

I wanted to know if we can restrict users in changing the settings in iOS/Android?

Especially the GPS location.

Please help me out with this, we are on Afaria 7.0 servicepack 4, hf19.

HK,

All the available settings are located in the configuration manager channels. I don't recall GPS being an allowed setting but all the available ones are listed in the documentation system administrators reference here:

http://help.sap.com/afaria7sp4#section5

I believe in SP4 all available settings is for Samsung only and just controls whether it is off or on.

Hello Hk,

In general both Android and iOS devices don't allow much in term of user restrictions. There are a few exceptions. For example for Android for work compliant devices, you can restrict screen capture and camera use. On some of Samsugn devices you get few other options as well but GPS is not one of them. iOS devcies can be managed in supervised mode which allows an administrator to add addtional restrions. These features may only be availalbe on latest release of Afaria/Mobile Secure. Please check the followong resources for additional information:
