How do you change the defaulted/saved download format from SAP (to) Excel

Former Member

Dear Gurus,

This is an URGENT query - I am trying to download report FBL3N from SAP > Excel.

I have selected the (wrong format in error) - “Excel (In MHTML format), and clicked on the “always use selected format”.

I want CHANGE this to “Excel (In existing XXL Format), but the problem is I believe it has defaulted in. Is there any way I can REMOVE the “Always use selected format”, thereby give me back the download options, where I can re-select the correct format to download the report.

Thanks

RICK

Program SALV_BS_ADMIN_MAINTAIN to maintain the entries.

See OSS 1080608 for more details

Major change by SAP and no easier accessible documentation. Yikes, sometimes it does not pay to be on the lastest support packs.

HI Experts,

I have a different kind of problem, where once the user has selected the option 'Always use the selected option', the option are not saved and next time again the user has to re-select the option.

Also I did not find the report SALV_BS_ADMIN_MAINTAIN in ECC 6.0 (SAP_BASIS: 700).

Could someone help me with any hints?

See OSS note 1065001 and check your SP level for Basis 700... it must be 13 or higher but 15 or 16 is better since there were several corrections implemented after 13.

Hi Philips,

That is a pretty useful reply.

I was exploring the option of applying the note alone, instead of the entire Support Package (13).

I think applying the notes individually is possible but my recent experience has been that basis SP are a better way to go. It limits your application risk since you only need to apply the Basis and ABA stack SPs.

My bad experience was the note dependencies. I tried to implement a single note which begat a dozen other dependent notes which in turn had other dependencies. Too much to implement individually. I turned to a basis SP instead. We prefer to implement the Support Stack but we have found after 3 basis SPs applications that they are relatively painless.

I had the same query, and saw this thread. No need to contact your basis team.

Simply right click on your ALV display. In the right-click menu that appears, select the menu value Spreadsheet (should be at the bottom of the menu). From here, the "Select Spreadsheet" dialogue box opens up. Now you should be able to un-check the "Always Use Selected Format" feature.

Hope this helps others...

I think if you log out and then log in , that should do the trick.

HI Venkatesh -

Unfortuantely this has not worked the issue I am having is -

When I click on EXPORT, I get 2 Format Types on a pop-up boox.

> Excel (IN MHTML Format)

> All Available Formats

When I click on the All available formats, I get several more options. I wanted to choose is the option - Excel (In existing XXL Format), unfortuantely I selected the Incorrect option, and now get an Error message in German - Also for further info, we had HR Patches applied last week.

I now "Cannot" change this download option, in SAP, I want to change it to Excel (In existing XXL Format), however because I flagged the "Always use Selected format" I believe it has somehow defaulted in and therefore I no longer get the "Download box, and option to change" it back to the Correct format.

PLEASE HELP!!

Thanks

RICK

Formats/layouts are mostly user specific.

Try using another user ID and excute the same, you should be able to set another default specifically for this user.

Check/delete SU3 if any user parameter is holding the value.
