Good Day
Can someone please advise me? We have BW and SAP CRM. Our users would like to do their segment builder type queries from BW instead of CRM. Is this the right thing strategically? The reasoning behind this is that BW is faster and in segment builder you can only get BP data but in BW you can get the relationships as well.
Your advise will be appreciated.
Thanks
hi
using BW with CRM is useful technique for segmenation purpose
as u may be aware u can do segmentATION ON THE BASIS OF :
Attribute list
infosets
data queries from the BW
u r damn rite that tha BP with relationship is available in BW ,
yeah BW queries are faster but i would like to say that it is scenario specific, there are certain requirements you just cant meet through the BW queries,u have to use the infosets in that case ,like u have maintained the Z table from which u want to fetch the BP data which u have improted from outside.u need to join certain tables which doesn normally behave the way they behave in CRM,
in Bw u have the master data u have maintained in CRM,so in that case using infosets will be much faster than using the BW queries.
this is just an instance but yeah it has been a gud practice to use BW in synchro with CRM so that queries are -processed faster .
so ur scenario demands such practicality then u can use the functionality and u can be much efficient but in different scenario ur way of doing thing becomes incompetent
so i would advise u to analyse the process in ur scenariop, according to that along wioth what i have said above u can make ur judgement that how u wanna process ur segmentation.
guess i made myself clear
do get back in case of any doubt.
for more info using BW queries how data is processed for segmetation try this link
