Multiple Rating of QM-Inspectionlot Results

is there a possibility, to rate inspection lot results again on characteristic-level, without loosing the old result?

So, a worker is rating an result in qm inspection lot, characteristic 0010.

Now we figure out, that the result was not good.
So the worker will do again an measurement (maybe a "more exactly" one) and gets another result.

Now we want to enter the new result also, which should be valid (also for usage decission).
However, we don't want to override the old result, we want to add a new result or at least keep the history of results.

Kind regards

Yes. provided your UD hasn't been made yet or the test is set up as a long-term characteristic, (which should be limited to truly long-term testing).

If you click on the "Documentation required" indicator in the QM view of the material master, this will result in any changes to a result creating a change record.

The other option depends on how you have the scope set for the characteristic or if you use physical sample management. With greater scope or no scope set, and using individual results recording, you can usually invalidate a result with an attribute (/). That would then allow you to record a new result. If you use physical sample management, you invalidate the result and then create a new sample from the sample drawing and test the new sample.

    Hello Craig,

thank you for your reply and sorry for my late answer.
That sounds good, especially the documentation function - didn't know this.

If we change the value in the rating (we have just one sample/part, which should be rated again), we will still have the problem that the run charts will be "manipulated" also.

How is it handled in other companies?
Will they just adapt the "result" (Accept/not accept) and not the value/attribute?

    Kind regards
