Hi all,
Is it possible to report/query on Items on Master Data that has not inoviced or has not been shipped?
Running query on Sales overview cube will not bring the right data since that cube only captures the items that was invoiced. Please help!
Thanks in advance,
BW
P:S Points will be assigned.
For faster access - add the master to a multiprovider along with the transaction cube and then in your report select for "Not Assigned" or "#" for the transaction data filetrs - this way you will only get values from the Master which do not have corresponding entries in the transaction data cube.
This will be much faster than an infoset

Hi All,
Sorry for getting back so late. We have not taken decision yet on how to pull this information. But I have assigned points to all of them who I thought helped me by giving solutions that can be taken for this process.
Thanks,
BW

Pavan,
In this case is the item/Materials. Can you give me steps please? If a char. variable has to be created in the cube (in this case if its shipment = transactional cube) which infoobject should be picked to create variable, same goes to the master data?
Thanks,
BW

Arun,
Can you please explain about where to put unassigned/ "#"? If I am correct is it in the query created based on the Multiprovider and filter with "#" for items/Material (in this case) infoobject?
Sorry for getting back late!
P:S I have not selected any scenarios you all gave above. Not sure which one is the better one to get what we needed, if its replacement variable or creating Infoset! or Multiprovider. I will assign points to all those helped me and that will be according to the progress of the work.
Thanks,
BW

Hi Diego,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
Which one is the best solution from two?
If it is replacement variable is easier and faster can you please tell me the steps to follow with replacement variable?
After creating a query with Masterdata I am lost in the second part.
Thanks,
BW

Hi,
if u are using BI-7 for scenarios like this they have designed info set to include 2 cubes,
as info set brings intersection data u can opt for infoset, build info set on cube and ur master data then u will get the result this will be better as per performance issue.
if u are using BW then if data flow is from ODS -> CUBE then u can build infoset on ODS and master data it will be good.
if u want replacement path then u have to use RRI that is report to report interface. build char variable on ur info object in cube query so that it will brings orders which are shipped.
then build another char variable in master data query and processing type as replacement path to char var built on first query. and exclude those values which first var brings.
assign points if it helps,
thanks,
pavan.
Hi BW,
You can create an Infoset joining the shipments structure and the master data infoobject. And only show the items that haven't got a shipment.
Another option is to create a replacement path variable in a query. You create a query using the master data as infoprovider and filter item using another query over the shipments and exclude this in the selection.
Hope this helps.

Diego
