Period to Week disaggregation not working as expected.

Hello All,

We have an issue and trying to see if I could get a solution here.

Planning Book / Data view time profile is set to period ( 2 Years future)

We have alternate time bucket profiles to display data in weekly levels.

Users open the planning book / data view and load the data and choose the weekly time bucket profile. They make adjustments and click save.

When the users switch to the period view, the changes are reflected. However when they switch back to the weekly view, they see the numbers are split equally for the weeks in that period. ( No changes were made at the period level after the changes were made in the weekly view )

We are trying to find a way to keep the adjustments the way they were made.

Please advice. Thank you for your time.

Regards,
Rohit.

Hi Rohit,

Your settings are correct at Planning area level.

another possibility is that-

1. Users do the adjustment at week level

2. Accessing the Monthly View they put 0 in the Key-figure and save the results.

3.Again put some non zero value at Monthly View.

if they are performing 2 nd step then its a problem as old proportional values get deleted.

Please also check any macro/background job zero out the adjustment.

Sachin

Hi Sachin,

Thanks for the reply. Let me see if i can reiterate my question here. Users currently plan at a monthly level. They want to ( in some cases only),go to the weekly level and move the values around the weeks. The lowest level we plan is at the weekly level. They click on save and then come back to the period level.

And should they want to make changes at the period level, then the values should disaggregate based on the same proportions that were maintained by the users at the weekly level and not an equal split.

That being said, please find out key figure settings here:

Hi Rohit,

1. Please check which are the periodontics you used in the storage bucket profile.

2. Check the Planning area setting for Time Based disaggregation.

Please try to find out the lowest bucket you used and then analyze the issue.

For example- If the week is split week in current Month and if you put any value in that week, some portion (based on number of days) will allocate to current month and some portion will go to next Month.

If you paste the setting here and give the example I can explain you in details.

Sachin

Hi Ada,

Thanks for the reply. Yes we tried both. It still doesn't work. Do you think I should raise an OSS message to confirm this is not a bug in our system?

Rohit.

Hi Rohit,

Check two things:

1) If users press save after changing to period.
I remember if you switch to another periodicity, there will be a popup asking if you want to save the data.
If when switch from period to week, user presses "yes" for this popup, data will be saved at period level and redisaggregated to weekly periods.

2) If there's any event macro make changes to the KF.
Try removing the event macros and check the result.

Best Regards,
Ada
