Which User for Communication Arrangement

Hello there,

we would like to know which user fits the requirement for web service communication arrangement (technical user / business user) ? Or which user can be used ?

As far as i know, technical users are automatically created by configuring the communication arrangement of a web service. To which category of user license belongs the technical user ?

Are technical users able to deal with any kind of web service transactions ?

Can someone please put some light on this.

Hi Omar,

In general web service APIs (Soap) can be used by communication users (technical users). In some cases business users have access to web service APIs as well, if this access is required for a business user scenario; for example the supplier invoice Excel upload or the journal entry voucher Excel upload.
As a partner you can furthermore create web service APIs with business user access using the SAP Cloud Applications Studio.

The authorization of a communication user depends on the ByD web service configuration:

1. At first you create a communication system in ByD representing the external application or system that consumes ByD web services. Each communication system creates a communication user associated to the communication system.
2. Then you create a communication scenario and select all web service APIs that shall be covered by the scenario.
   Additional to custom comm. scenarios, SAP provides a list of standard communication scenarios with predefined lists of web service APIs.
3. Last step: Create communication arrangement for one or more communication scenarios and select the communication system from step 1.
   As result the communication user associated to the comm. system get authorizations for all web service APIs included in the communication scenarios.

Conclusion:
Its up to you: You can configure ByD such that every comm. user has access to one web service API only, or you can configure ByD such that one user has access to many web service APIs.

As of today technical communication users (that have been created via communication arrangements) are free of charge and do not belong to a license-relevant user category. Please contact your SAP sales contact or SAP partner for further details about ByD user licenses.

the user is created and listed in the communication system after using the communication system in at least one communication arrangement.

My Created Communication System doesnt creat implicitly Communication user (Users Tab is Empty) can anybody help !
