Cusomer Groups

Hi all,

I have a question: My client has several different customer groups, ie retail, distributor etc...For each customer group they have different UDF's that need to be associated, is there anyway in SAPB1 to do this? I have looked into Customer Groups and Business Partner Properties, both of these from what I understand only allow you to format reports and sort data, is there anything these options can do? Or is there any other way to accomplish this task?

Thanks for your help,

Tara

Hi Suda,

Here's a clarification on the task that I'm trying to accomplish:

Our client has various different customer categories, including Distributor, Retailer, Wholesaler etc. (there are about 5 different categories) For each customer category, for example Distributor, they have specific UDF's that should display, however when using a different customer category, for example Retailer, a different set of UDF's should display.

Example: A customer has the category Distributor, when on the Business Partner Master Data, the UDF's Referred, Points and Source should display. When creating a Business Partner Master Data for a different customer with a category of Retailer different UDF's should display, including Additional Vendor, User Name etc... There are several different UDF's that I would like to create for each Customer Category. And it would create confusion if they were all to display on each Business Partner Master Data for each category.

Does this explain better? Please let me know if you still need further information.

Thanks,

Tara

Tara,

I seem to understand it better this time. Dynamically making UDF's visible based on the category can be achieved only through SDK programming. There is no setting within SBO which can do it.

Optionally you can look at this Addon (Usability Package) using which you can achieve the same. www.b1up.net

There is one thing you can do without SDK: you can group the UDF-s into categories, and the user can choose which category of fields he wants to see.
