Maintenance Optimizer and Enhancement Packages

Good day,

During our next Support Package Stack update for ERP 6.0 I would like to include Enhancement Package 3.

I have upgraded our Solution Manager 4.0 system to SPS15, the ERP 6.0 satelite systems are on SPS10. SAP suggest importing a Support Stack with an Enhancement Package so as to minimize the need for modification(otherwise you will have to do it twice) which is understandable. SAP also suggest using Maintenance Optimizer to select your "Technical Usage" which will automatically select the relevant packages required to implement the Enhancement as well as the required files for the Stack.

I am just doing a test in preparation for the update and I can't figure out how to get Maintenance Optimizer to offer me a choice of selecting an Enhancement to include in an update. When I select my product(ECC6.0) then select my satelite system eg DEV I get a "maintenance" option only which when I choose "Find Download Files" under "Calculate download files automatically" it only gives me a choice of selecting a Target Stack and no Enhancement package.

Our satelite systems use SLD to update the info in Solution Manager so it should have all the correct information.

What am I doing wrong ?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Nelis

Hi,

I was able to assign SAP ERP to my systems manually in a few steps:

1:

SMSY -> menu: System Lnadscape -> Select Other object -> Logical Component -> 'zSAP ERP' -> Create 'zSAP ERP'

-> Product: select SAP ERP, version SAP ERP 6.0 -> save

2:

Assign this new logical Component to logical systems:

SMSY -> Landscape components -> your system xxx -> Button 'Assignment to logical Components' wizzard

Select your logical 'zSAP ERP' component for your system's

3:

DSWP

-> Solution Overview

-> -> Solution Landscape Maintenance

Add/replace by your newly created logical component in the system group tab

Now you can select SAP ERP in the new optimizer action, before you select your systems.

And only then you see a new radio buttton for installing enhcancement packages.

Selecting a ehp technical usage allows you to download the needed ehp files.

BUT............

It did not create the xml file I needed for including the ehp in the upgrade

I could not detect any stack configuration file

To answer my own question, see Note 1128773 "Systems assigned to ECC 6.0 only have maintenance

selection."

My systems were assigned to ECC 6.0 via SLD data capture automatically which is apparently incorrect ?!
