We are using Repetitive manufacturing and
planned orders are of order type PE
In the rem profile the firming logic is 'Always firm'.
The MRP type is PD and the dates and the quantities of these planned orders are not changed manually.
When MRP is run, the planned orders for some materials having past date and today's date are getting firmed.
The exception message in MD04 is 10 and 15 for this firmed planned orders.
For some materials this is happening while the planned orders for other materials are not getting firmed.
What can be the reason for these orders to get firmed?
Hello Amit,
Even though the firming logic "Always Firm", the other influencing factors are:
1. Firming only takes place in the Planning time fence.
For this you need to maintain the planning time fence (perid in days in Material master MRP-1 View).
2. Planning time fence is always associated with planning using MRP type with Firming type (e.g P1, P2 Etc..)
Hope this helps..

Siva

Thanks Siva for your reply.
Will change the logic from "Always Firm" to "Do not firm" and check.

Also, there is not date set in manual firming indicator in MD04.

Hello Amit,
If the planning time fence is not appearing in the MD04 (either from Material Master or from Planning Table : manual firming date) then there is no other way the Planned Orders are getting firmed.
As you know that if any manual changes to the planned orders will result in firming of planned order.
How about changing the "Always Firm" to "Do not firm" Logic..
Is it possible to test with this setting?
Regards,
Siva
The planning time fence is not maintained in the material master, and we do not want to maintain it, as we do not want the orders to get firmed.
The MRP type used is PD.
Still the orders are getting firmed when MRP is run in the background.
These planned orders which get firmed have today's and past dates.
What can be the reason for this?
Is there a setting which can prevent these planned orders from getting firmed?
