How to pass BEX input variable values to Calculation View

Hi All,

We have created a Calculation view in HANA Studio and used it in Composite provider and Bex Query is built on top of this composite provider. We have a scenario in which user should provide input (Interval) in Bex Query nd it should be passed to HANA's input parameter to filter the values in view level itself.

Can you please let me know how to pass this input variable values (Multiple Single or Interval) into HANA View input parameter.

Thanks in advance.

Please refer to restrictions on passing input parameters to calculation views below:

I am not sure if multiple single values are supported via Bex, but range is definitely not supported.

You might want to consider using two input parameters to signify range.

In order to assign input parameters to Bex, you need to follow below step:

1. Add input parameter as field in composite provider

2. Include this input parameter as field in Bex filter

3. You can restrict this Bex filter either with fixed value or a variable.

Hope this helps.

Hi Anup,

Thank you for your answer, I achieved it by creating two input parameters (Low and High) in calculation view and mapped it to composite provider then to Bex query designer. Then I restricted these 2 input parameters with two customer exit variables which gets its values from ready for input (range) variable.

I am not sure whether this is the only or best way to achieve it. Please let me know if there are any better approach.

Thank You
