Hello,
We are currently running 4.5B R/3 on the iSeries, our DB is about 2.5 terabytes (EBCDIC). Our current plan is to upgrade to ECC 6.0 Unicode in the near future.
I understand that the upgrade will require a move to 4.6, conversion to ASCII, and then the upgrade to ECC 6.0 Unicode. I fear that the amount of downtime required to accomplish this move may be more than the business is willing to tolerate.
If anyone has had any experience with this type of upgrade, I would greatly appreciate any input on the subject.
Thanks
John
Hello Volker,
Thank you. It does seem that this will push us outside of an acceptable window. I will contact you outside of this forum.
Best regards,
John

Hi John,
we had something similar like that somewhere else.
I can promiss you the downtime is nearly a week:
My guess: upg to 4.6C 50h - cpc 24h - upg to 6.0 70h ;-(((
=> You seem to need a different approach ...
I would please ask you to contact us offline on this ...
