Hi, I was trayin to install NW CE 7 on my laptop and i got the following error :
An error occurred while processing service SAP NetWeaver CE Developer Edition > SAP NetWeaver CE Development System( Last error reported by the step :System call failed. Error 21 (The device is not ready. ) in execution of system call 'GetVolumeNameForVolumeMountPoint' with parameter (G:\), line (322) in file (synxcfsmnt.cpp), stack trace: iaxxejsctl.cpp: 249: EJS_ControllerImpl::executeScript() d:\depot\bas\710_rel\bc_710-3_rel\gen\opt\ntintel\ins\sapinst\impl\src\ejs\iaxxejsbas.hpp: 445: EJS_Base::dispatchFunctionCall() iaxxejsexp.cpp: 171: EJS_Installer::invokeModuleCall() synxcfsmnt.cpp: 338: CSyFSMountImpl::getFSTypeFromOS() synxcfsmnt.cpp: 306: CSyFSMountImpl::getFSNameFromOS() .). You may now
choose Retry to repeat the current step.
choose View Log to get more information about the error.
stop the task and continue with it later.
Log files are written to C:\Program Files/sapinst_instdir/CE71_DEV_ADA/INSTALL.
I also have disabled my firewall and created a loopback conection but the error is still there!
Thanks in advance
Erick
Hello Erick,
I don't know if this problem still exists, but perhaps here are some points you could try to check:
1. Do you use WinXP or Vista?
2. Is this an external or internal drive?
3. Is the drive formatted with NTFS?
4. Do you have administrative rights on this drive?

Norman Schröder

4. Do you have administrative rights on this drive?
---> I do!
Norman, i appreciate your help but i discovered the cause of the problem and solved it. It was very strange, it has nothing to do with the NWCE7.
I have a virtual CD/DVD emulated by poweriso. And this was causing all the trouble, i can't explain why but the drive G: is the virtual drive and when i read it unable to mount in the erro message i tried to disable it, and then PROBLEM SOLVED!
Thanks!
Erick
