Dear Gurus,

I am reciving an error while applying the liscense to the fail over server.

      • SAPLICENSE (Release 700) ERROR ***

ERROR: Can not set DbSl trace function

DETAILS: DbSlControl(DBSL_CMD_IMP_FUNS_SET) failed with return code

20

RC-INFO: error loading dynamic db-library - check environment for:

dbms_type = <db-type> (e.g. ora)

DIR_LIBRARY = <path to db-dll>

(e.g. /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run)

LD_LIBRARY_PATH = <path do db and sap libs>

(e.g. /oracle/SID/lib)

My Production system no is 00000000031XXXXXXX but the license key is for 00000000031XYYYYY.

I am anot able to login to fail over node due to this.

How can I resolve this problem ?

Sachin

You have not set the paths correctly at the enviromental variables...

Just add them ass suggested

dbms_type = <db-type> (e.g. ora)

DIR_LIBRARY = <path to db-dll>

(e.g. /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run)

LD_LIBRARY_PATH = <path do db and sap libs>

(e.g. /oracle/SID/lib)

Also you can logon to the system as SAP* and use transaction SLICENSE to install the new license.

Juan

Hi ,

Have you applied license on both the nodes .In cluster environment you need to apply two license.First one NODE1 & after moving to other node second license on NODE2.

When you move cluster from NODE1 to NODE2 the hardware key gets chenged & hence you will face issue if you have not applied license for other node.So please apply two licese with two separate hardware keys .Hope this will resolve your issue.

Thanks..

Hi sachin,

First thing you check if you are able to connect to database.

Check for R3trans -d.

If it works fine then it is good else try to fix the issue seeing the log "trans.log".

Once you are able to connect to database (R3trans -d) is working fine.

Seeing the error message sent by you if looks like

1. Your Orcale client is not correct.

2. For Oracle 10g you have to set the environmet variable also.

3. Its looks like you have applied the latest Kernel patch. So copy the same patches in "/usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run" folder or if you have soft link pointing to the Kernel directory "/sapmnt/SID/exe" then it is fine.

Best Wishes.

sachin,

how r u applying the license through slicense???

unable to login in failover?? have u deleted the temporary license??? or has it crossed 4 weeks??

if u have deleted the temp license apply the license through visual admin

if it has crossed 4 weeks , revert the date backwards and apply license

u must have applied for a license in oss using other system with same sid,

u have to copy the system number from the node u have applied license on and apply for a license under the same system in the oss and give the system number.

when u get the license apply as mentioned above.

Hello Sachin Sable,

Have you followed the SAP note below to install the license in your high availability landscape?

538081 High-availability SAPLICENSE

This note is very helpful.
