Hi Honcho De,
SAP Has 3 types of Projects:
1) Implementation Project
2) Rollout Project
3) Supporting
Implementation Project: -
Project implemented comprises 5 stages
1) Project Preparation :- Project Planning & Objective, Resource allocation, Workshops, Project scope,Q&A DB , Client presentation, Business Process re-engineering doc, etc
2) Business Blueprint:- AS-IS Documentation + Requirements (from client)
TO-BE Documentation (prepared by US) GAP (its gap b/n AS-IS & TO-BE)
At that time we have o find solution for GAP (Alternatives for gap filling)
3) Realization :- configuration Template , Configuration , Configuration Document then send the TP (transportation request ) for approval to move the Quality
4) Final Preparation : - Self Testing ( Unit Testing & Integrated Testing), Test Plan Document , User Testing need to get documentation from user for his testing called UAT (User Acceptance Template) , User Manuals, User Training, Cutover activities Finally Approval from Both-ends for production move
5) Go-Live & Support :- User training (based on requirement), Post go live support for 30 days (as per our agreement)
Rollout Project:-
Its like semi-implementation with the help of existing implementation, its also done as per ASAP Methodology (Road Map (5 Phases))
Ex: - Regency Ceramics Limited (RCL)
They are having more than 2 plants in abroad
First they implement in India
Now they are going to implement in Singapore at that time they can copied (used) Existing configuration like RCL INDIA , most of the work copied but some part of job reconstructed as per their business (like Master Records , taxes, business process etc)
Supporting Project:-
They are using a specific tool for tracking the issues/tickets/calls
Tools like Lotus notepad/ Cintric
Hope this clear your doubts.
If it is helpfull
Please reward the points.
Regards,
Raghu

Hai..
In addition to the above.. its like a next phase wherein.. u do some modules in the implementation, and later on u want it to extend for other parts of the company..... this is called ROLL OUT.
Imple is NEW and doing it from base....
Supoort is ongoing routine activities and any enhancments/modifications, creation of things
Isn't the Roll Out project deals with the whole lifecycle of the project, where as Implemetnation Project only really deal with one phase?
Blue Print Phase, Implementation Phase, Conversion Phase, Go Live, celebration party, hypercare support, project over turn over to productionsupport

Actually roll out is usually associated with the "Go Live" phase, as for the Implementation is the whole life of the project.
Imagine a scenario, you have to install 50 PC with windows in your company. The roll out would be going with the CD's to each PC and install as for the implementation would be all the logistic, planning, etc.
