EP6.0 SP19: Error looking up url

Former Member

I have strange messages appearing in the logs which I cannot track down.

They are:

Error looking up url: xxxxxxxxxx
[EXCEPTION]
 com.sapportals.portal.pcd.gl.PermissionControlException: Access denied (Object(s): xxxxxxxx)

Bizarely this always occur in pairs of error messages. The PCD location is not important but is a version of old content no longer used.

I have confirmed that this content is NOT assigned to anyone and is not AFAICT delta linked from anything else.

Now when I attempt to access this content using a user who is not "allowed" or "assigned" to this content I get:

Exception ID:09:56_27/03/08_0002_9420750
[EXCEPTION]
com.sapportals.portal.prt.runtime.PortalRuntimeException: Access is denied: pcd:xxxxxxxxxx - user: Test, Haydn

and ....

ar 27, 2008 9:56:50 AM com.sap.portal.portal [SAPEngine_Application_Thread[impl:3]_5]
Error: Exception ID:09:56_27/03/08_0002_9420750

Which is not the same. Clearly if I assign the content to my test user then access is possible despite the PCD permissions against the actual objects.

Anyone any clues?

Thanks

Haydn

PCD consistency check found some issues which when corrected solved this problem

Hello,

I am having a similar problem. What kind of changes did you make to resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance.

also most of the errors (maybe 75%-80%) have a proper user id recorded against them which implies the errors

occur with users who are already logged in correctly. There are also some instances of "Guest" users.

When I attempted to recreate the error but using a URL to content (but not having logged in) the user is

reported as Guest - which I would expect. Then when I did the same thing (having logged in) my user id

was reported as above.

I should mention that the URL in question is an actual iview in a role NOT the role itself.
