mail set up in SRM

hi gurus,

i am having problem in mail set up, in the transaction SOST , system ends up giving the following message and the mail is not send out.

Cannot process message, no route from XXXXXXX to XXXXXXX.

i have seen note 455140 ---> but this does not specify how to maintain the route.

any help will be appreciated.

    Hi,

    Please ask your BASIS team to set up the SMTP settings in SCOT transaction.

    Clarifications welcome.
