    Hi,

    Understand the system landscape(source release,target release...etc)

Identify the components needs to be upgraded(OS,DB....etc)

    Analyze the requirements(Required Patchlevel,Storage requirements...etc)

    Plan the Upgrade path(DEV-QAS-PRD...etc)

Test the Upgrade on a test system(copy of production)

    Test the functionalities

    Get the user accpetence

    Execute the Production Upgrade

Regarding the Functional part,we have to identify additional functionalities as a part of the new release, identify the custom developments which can be taken out with SAP standards,End user testing is one of the key area.

    Regrads,

    Sam
