Hello,

I have defined some associations in my cds file on my SCP's HANA.
They're working like a charm.

In scripted they work well, but scripted views are not the way to go, as far as I know.

My question now is. How can i use them within graphical calc views?

Regards

Jo

Hi Johannes,

CDS is Core Data Services and it is a language definition for database artifacts. Once you activate it (either on ABAP or HANA Repository) the system will generate all relevant database objects. Once they are at the "catalog" level, you can use them on a regular Graphical Calculation View, just like any regular Tables or other views. CDS Views could be in simple terms be considered analogous to Calculation Views. Internally HANA will use a proper engine just like a Calculation View for a CDS View. So in terms of performance, there is no big difference.

You could mix Calculation Views and CDS Views inside a Calculation View if required. Or you could use only CDS views directly on your scripts - it is up to you. Just keep in mind that CDS DDL might be richer than HANA native.

Regards,
Ivan
