BExGetData vs SAPGetData

I’m currently in the process of migrating a BEx workbook to Analysis for Office version 2.3. The workbook includes various Excel formulas, where especially BExGetData is used frequently. The alternative formula in Analysis I’m using is SAPGetData, which is slightly different.

I have made it work with various queries but I’m stuck trying to get data from an InfoProvider. I’m using the following syntax but it fails to return any data:

=SAPGetData("DS_5";"SignData";"PRODUCTGROUP";"101")

In this case, SignData is the measure from my InfoProvider and PRODUCTGROUP is the dimension I’m trying to match with the value 101. This syntax worked fine when using queries but fails with the InfoProvider.

Does SAPGetData not work with InfoProvider? If not, is there any viable alternative to query data from an InfoProvider?

Thanks.

    Hi,

Its working on both Query and InfoProvider in 2.5 with syntax as follows

    =SAPGetData("DS_5";"SignData";"PRODUCTGROUP=101")

May be you can try with Technical name of Measure ( can find under Properties window) instead of text.

    =SAPGetData("DS_5";"<Technical name of Measure>";"PRODUCTGROUP=101")

    Thanks,

    Raju

The measure from the InfoProvider does not have a technical name and it's not working with the alias. Is there any other way to use SAPGetData?
