Hi,

In retail industry (using SAPRetail) I would like to know if it is possible:

1. Activate Pricat using S/4 HANA 1709
2. Activate Pricat with MDG-F and MDG-S in the same system (using S/4 HANA 1709)
3. If I can't activate Pricat or MDG, is there another tool tha I can use in order to govern materials, G/L accont and suppliers master data in retail industry
4. If I can´t activate MDG, can I use another tool in order to govern G/L accont and suppliers master data (in S/4 HANA 1709)?

I know that:
- In S/4 HANA 1709 is valid use MDG 9.1 but I do not know If I can use MDG with SAPRetail
- We can use Pricat if we use SAPRetail at least without using SAP HANA 1709

Thanks in advance for your answers.
Regards

With respect to PRICAT, in S/4HANA Retail this is incorporated in SAP Enterprise Services for GDSN.

It's a very complex setup. Because of this, I highly recommend taking advantage of Empowerment Service for Global Data Synchronization for Retail - 50118626, which is an example offered as a service.

Dear Mrs. Lingua

The transaction PRICAT is not available in S/4 Hana.

For inbounding product master data from i.e data pools you can use transaction W_SYNC.

To inbound data you can either use enterprise service or IDoc PRICECATALOGUE but for customers starting to work with this transaction I would recommend enterprise service.

Dear Former Member,

Thank you for the response.

I Know transaction PRICAT is not available in S/4 HANA and that I have to use W_SYNC.

I tried to introduce an idoc PRICECATALOGUE but I found some inconveniences and from here my questions. For example, until I run the rwrf_pricat_migrate program, I cannot process the incoming idoc but supposedly this program is to inherit a historical data that in a green field does not exist. Furthermore, I didn't find the customizing point to update the data corresponding to the WRF_PRICAT_001 table. Please, I would need a detailed answer for these points and a clear answer as to whether the inbound pricat can be used through the W_SYNC transaction in a green field or if this transaction is only intended for migrations with previous data.Thank you very much for your attention and I am waiting for your comments.Kind Regards

Dear Mr Rothley,

I was wondering if you could clarify if inbound pricecatalogue02 is within the scope of SAP S/4 Hana 1809 and 1909.

I have reviewed the simplification list (image below) and it is not clear to me if it can be used only if it was previously worked on in other versions and when migrating it is available or if in a green field implementation is actually available from 0 too.

It would be helpful if you could clarify it for me. Thank you very much in advance.

Hi Alejandra,

you can use MDG and activate MDG with SAPRetail and govern all master data for the standard MDG domains (financials, material, business partner (customers & suppliers) or any custom object).

For the Retail Article there is a partner Solution Extension available which has to be licensed separately. Both MDG-Material and MDG-RFM can run together.

For PRICAT we did not do any explicit test, but I saw that it can be activated on S/4HANA as well (not knowing about separate license cost though). I should work independent or complementary to the MDG offering (for sure it does for MDG-F and MDG-S) - but customer should make sure the processes around Material / Article work hand-in-hand. On the S/4HANA roadmap we rather recommend to include hybris commerce solution which is part of the so-called "SAP Retail Reference Architecture" whereas Pricat is not.

Best regards
