PDFDocumentRuntimeException Error with web dynpro and Interactive Forms

Former Member

Hi,

I installed on my notebook the Trail Versions of:

- SAP NetWeaver Application Server 7.00/Java AS 7.00

- SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio Version: 7.0.14

- Acrobat Reader 7.0.9

- Internet explorer 7.0.5730.13

I configured and tested the ADS after the configuration guide and i get the Version info sucessfully if I do the http://localhost:50000/AdobeDocumentServices/Config Test.

So i developed a web dynpro application with interactive forms after a tutorial and did exactly the same (so i think i have to configure something on the server or on the client). All other Webdynpro applications without an interactive forms are running without any problems.

when im running the application with the interactive forms this error occured:

Hi Andreas,

I am facining the same issue as yours. I am getting the error -

com.sap.tc.webdynpro.clientserver.adobe.pdfdocument.base.core.PDFDocumentRuntimeException: Failed to UPDATEDATAINPDF

at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.clientserver.uielib.adobe.impl.InteractiveForm.afterHandleActionEvent(InteractiveForm.java:396)

at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.clientserver.cal.ClientApplication.afterApplicationModification(ClientApplication.java:1132)

..................

I have JAVA Netweaver WebAS 2004s Installed. I have the ADS configured. All the credentials are in place and even the test conducted on the ADS in the webservices portal works fine.

After going through the post, I feel that I need to Install ACF (Adobe Component Framework) as you seem to have done the same to get this issue fixed.

Please let me know where did you get the installable for ACF. Also, I would be glad if you could let me know if you had to do some other settings/configurations to get this issue fixed.

Hi Debasish,

you can download the xACF on the marketplace (service.sap.com).

But the solution of my problem was not the ACF. I configured the credential in Visual Ad. wrong.

I entered the password in the field sha1, but it have to be blank.

It looks like you have a different problem as mine, as it failed to update the datas in the pdf. So the installation of the ACF could solve it.

Is your Contextelement of pdfSource (in Web Dynpro) marked as binary (under Type in properties) ?

I installed and configured the credentials, but there is still the same problem:

Hi,

It seems that credential is not installed properly. Please follow below link for installing Credential:

http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_03/helpdata/EN/37/504b8cbc2848a494facfdc09a359b1/frameset.htm

Hope this helps you,

thank you for your answer.

hmm, i downloaded the credentials for my Netweaver java trial

from this side here under Download instructions is a link to the credentials(the same site where i downloaded the Java Netweaver trial)

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloads?rid=/library/uuid/e0576c7e-e306-2a10-37b8-a25d82e6f9d8

This should be the right credentials, right ? I should get the ReaderRights with this credentials, to insert text in the forms and so on (but no digital signature) ?

I installed and configured them like they said in the Documentation

Like:

Alias: ReaderRights

Type: P12

P12 File: xxxx_EXPXXXXX.pfx

Sha1: xxxxx

Expired on May 30, 2008

and restarted the whole server..

So i should work normaly... but it doesnt! Maybe other credentials ?

I FOUND THE SOLUTION FOR MY PROBLEM!!

oh man, i have to read configuration guides exactly!!

...The problem was i entered in Sha1 the password, which comes with the credential. But it have to be blank, if your Alias is ReaderRights

Alias: ReaderRights

Type: P12

P12 File: xxxx_EXPXXXXX.pfx

Sha1: xxxxx <----

it have to be blank if you entered Alias: ReaderRights

Password: XXXXX <----

here the password from txt credential file

Password: XXXXX <----

here the password again from txt credential file

If you entered ReaderRights in the Alias field, you must not make any entry in the sha1 field.

Thanks for your help Amit!!!

I already copied the credential file to C:\usr\sap\J2E\SYS\global\AdobeDocumentServices\TrustManagerService\trust\credentials and made the entries via Visual Administrator in Document Services Configuration -> Runtime-> Credential and restartet the server. But it still doesnt work.

Have anybody an idea ?

Hi,

Just quick check, do you have credentials in ADS for using Interactive forms.

This link may help you

Hi Amit,

thank you for your answer. I downloaded the Java Trail Version and the credential on this side :

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloads?rid=/library/uuid/e0576c7e-e306-2a10-37b8-a25d82e6f9d8

I also copied the file to the neccessary folder and configured it with Visual Administrator in Document Services Configuration with:

Type: P12 Record

Alias: ReaderRights

P12 File: xxxx.pfx

sha1: entered here the string of the .txt file, which comes with the downloaded credential

password:entered here the string of the .txt file, which comes with the downloaded credential

After this i restarted the server.

So the credential should work normally ?! Is it possible to develope interactive forms with this credential ? or can i develope just print forms ?

Maybe this is the reason, because i developed an dynpro with an interactive Form.

Former Member

Hi,

If you are developing an Interactive form then credentials are necessary, but for print forms no credentials are required.

Now you should be able to develop an Interactive forms.

Amit
