SCP IS - Rolling updates

Hi All,

My query is on the Rolling software upgrades in SCP IS (HCI). Can anyone help with the following :

1. How are the upgrades handled in a Production System?

2. Do we get a notification from SAP before before the upgrades are done in a tenant? What is the window period?

3. Does it go through Dev-QA-Production cycle?

4. Is there any standard documentation available which highlights the process

I have gone through the following blogs :

https://blogs.sap.com/2015/01/13/rolling-software-updates-of-hci-pi/

https://blogs.sap.com/2015/01/13/failover-and-scalability-of-hci-pi/

    Hi Ramya

Basically, the updates are pushed to you, usually (but not necessarily always) on a monthly basis. You do not have the option of postponing or skipping an update.

You might want to look into the regression test service that SAP offers for Cloud Integration. With the regression test service, you can choose a number of integration flows, and provide SAP with sample input and output documents. SAP will then proceed to run your integration flow in an upgraded internal test environment. If the regression test fails (i.e. given the provided input, the output does not match the output provided by the customer), SAP will not push the update to the live environment.

Keep in mind that this is an additional, paid service; it is not part of the subscription.

    Regards,

    Morten
