inventory conversion

we receive furnace oil in ton basis.GRPO is also made in Ton as also the invoice. But the physical inventory is in KL and for production issue also in KL.The experts suggested to receive in ton and goods issue it in ton. Then in another code enter manually the ton amount divided by the density(to get KL) in receipts of inventory transaction and then do the goods issue. But problem is when entering the KL quantity the price is being picked up from Ton code.

xxxxx code: furnace oil: 1 Ton:Rate 20000

after conversion with density factor of 0.985

yyyyy code :furnace oil: 1.015 KL:Rate :20000/1.015= 19704

but the rate is showing as 20000.

Please help

cost of 1 ton = 20000

1 ton = 1.015 kl ( according to yours case )

so price of 1.015 will be 20000 only.

you have only converted the quantity by dividing it with density factor and no where you have changed the amount, so it is obvious that 1.015kl will show 20000 only,

what you are asking is possible but please let the person who implemented the software do that, you being an end user may not be the right person to change the process and configuration of your system

Thanks

since we consume in KL,the cost per KL should show as 19704(20000/1.015)

Sir,

Can a solution be arrived at like this.

Receive in Ton in the GRPO but get converted into KL after writing suitable formula with provision to change the formula for each GRPO(because density factor keeps changing with every truck)The A/P invoice will be in Ton as usual.

GRPO = Goods receipt PO. or anything else?

coming to conversion, when you are converting the TON into KL since you are going to use density then you can convert back to TON using the formula.

Please get in touch with your Technical ABAP team to get more clarity on that.

Hi U Bhat,

Please check the below steps.. I am not sure I am right, but it may help you. it helps, please appreciate.

i) Hope you need to check the UOM conversion factor in the article/ Material master. 1000 KL = 1 TON. or maintain it as per your requirement, also price should maintain in that way.

ii) Material/Article's base UOM needs to be checked. if you are maintaining in TON then you should maintain as TON.

iii) If you are maintaining/ converting the price in the customized code then check the UOM and convert into TON since you will maintain only in TON's.

Regards,

Raja.

Are you maintaining the pricing condition record in TON / KL ?

It should be created in TON.
