CONNECTING BI & MSSQL

Hi Experts,

Iam in a peculiar situation where I have to connect my BW system to take data from external MS SQL database. The problem is that the BW system is on Unix operating system and MS SQL is on Windows NT Operating System. Iam looking to establish a connection through DB connect, but again There is a dependency that one of the application servers should be on Windows NT operating system. So how do connect, using DB Connect, my BW system on Unix platform to MS SQL Server on Windows NT Platform.

Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated and I promise to assign full points to any answer which would help me solve my problem.

Thanx and Regards

ZAK

    Hi,

in this case you should try to use UD Connect instead of DB Connect.

If you use DB Connect, you would need a windows application server in order to run the dbsl's (the windows ones don't run on unix). So in your case, UD Connect could be a viable alternative.
