Hi Gurus,

CAn any one let me know where do we do settings of mandatory field tick mark in all views when we define a material.

i.e. I want loading group / shipping condition to be mandatory. No user can by-pass this to next tab unless he fills this area.

Regard

hi,

the field you have specified are already mandatory in the material creation in material master.

if for further fields to be mandatory and only if essential

You can go to Logistics - General --> Material Master --> Basic Settings --> Material Types --> Define Attributes of Material Types

Check the what is the field reference assigned to material type.

Then you can go to OMS9 and enter field selection group 48.

There you can make madatory for the field. But make sure some settings are effect other materials types also where same field reference group is assigned.

regards,

Siddharth

hi,

to make a field mandatory in mm01 follow the following steps:

1. Get the technical details of the field "loading group" by clicking on F1 and then "Technical help". Note the value in the field "Screen Field".

2. Now go to Transaction SPRO -> IMG --> Logistics - General -> Material Master -> Field Selection -> Maintain Field Selection for Data Screens

3. Now using F4 help on "Field Sel. group", select the value you got from the field "Screen Field" in step 1.

4. Now scroll down the list to find the value MM01. we are trying to modify the properties of the field loading group(value in the field "Screen Field") in the transaction MM01. Now click on the radio button "Reqd Entry" to mark the field as mandatory. Similarly, we can mark any field as optional or only as display field or hide the field.

5. Save your entries

hope you find this helpful
