Hello All,
Am having a scenario wherein a product X is planned in plant 1400, material X is having components X1, X2, X3 & X4, X1 & X2 are subassemblies, X3 & X4 are raw materials. Component X1 is planned & manufactured in plant 1200. can any body tell me the approptiate MRP setting for product X & component X1 in the respective material master.
Regards,
J K Tharwani
Hi,
Maintain The BOM & Routing for X1 at plant 1200 & Procurement type = E at MRP view
Maintain the procurementtype =E & SPK = 80 (prod in alternat plant ) at MRP view of X1 at plant 1400.
u need not mainatin any SPK for Header material.
create demand for X and run MRP , based on the stock positon planned order will be cretaed for X1 in plant 1400 & 1200.
convert the pld order - > prod order & GR

Pradeep

Hello Pradeep,
Thanks a lot for your reply, I would like to brief my scenario again, am having a scenario wherein a product X is planned in plant 1400, productl X is having components X1, X2, X3 & X4, X1 & X2 are subassemblies, X3 & X4 are raw materials. Component X1 is planned & manufactured in plant 1200. The company is procuring component X1 from plant 1200 as in it is purchasing it from the plant 1200, i.e. plant 1400 requires component X1 and it purchases it from plant 1200. For this thing am using special procurement key 40, i have done the appropriate settings as told by you.
I have maintained special procurement key 40 for component X1 in plant 1400, and set its procurement type "F", because plant 1400 purchases this component from plant 1200.
Ideally following shall happen for special procurement key 40: On detecting a shortage of component X1in plant 1400, the system automaticaly creates a planned order for stock transfer or a stock transport requisition in plant 1400 and a release order for the planned ordr or purchase requisition in plant 1200.
In plant 1400, you convert the stock transport requisition into ta stock trasport order. When doing this, the release order in plant 1200 is automatically converted into a purchase order..
In the planning run in plant 1400 has created a planned order for stock transfer, you m ust convert this into a purchase requisition and then convert this into a purchase order.
Your valuable inputs are highly required.

Hi Jitender,
You can do customization for Special Procurement key according to ur needs. for example u can use Sp. Proc. Key 80 production in Alt. Plant. for plant B in mrp 2 view for that particular material u can give Sp. Proc. Key as 80 (Production in Alt. Plant). this will solve ur problem. Reward points if it is useful.

Hi,
1. Create BOM, Routing for material X in planning plant 1400.
2.Maintain material master for X1 in planning plant. Maintain spl. procurement key 80 in mrp2 view.
3.Maintain material master for X1 in production plant 1200. No spl. procurement key required.
4.Maintain BOM & Routing in 1200.
5.In SPRO> Production> MRP> Define spl. procurement key type - production in alt plant - enter issue plant.
6.Carry out mrp run in 1400.During mrp run system create planned order for planning plant 1400.
7.When planned order convert to production order in 1400, in 1200 also planned order will convert to prod order.
8.When goods receipt in prod plant 1200, stock will increase in planning plant 1400.

Hi Jitender,
What myself & Pradeep explained was Production in Alternate plant - 80.
That we conclude from what you have raised as a thread.
You are explaining about Stock transfer - 40. This is used for stock transfer from one plant to another plant.
In this you can not give plan to another plant. If shortage of stock, that time only system create planned order in another plant.
Anyway if your scenario is matching with stock transfer, you can try this.
Your understanding & explanation is very clear.

Dharma
Thanks Dharma for your valuable inputs,
I would again like to explain the scenraio: plant 1400 is purchasing component X1 from plant 1200. Plant 1200 is having in-house production for component X1. Now can you please clarify me that which special procurement key I have to use is it "40" or "80".
Expecting your positive and prompt response. Thanks agian for your inputs Dharma.

Hi,
For your scenario u can use both SPK 40 & 80. The decision is upto you.
However you are not producing the component X1 at plant 1400 and only in 1200 , i think SPK 80 is enough.
If u maintain 80 then stock issue from prod plant for component X1 is simple.
If u want more control for stock transfer then u ahve to use SPK 40.
Inthat case 3 steps stock transfer is required. Removal of stock from issuing plant -> stock in transit-> GR at receiving plant.
What we have suggested is simple stock posting method.
Hope u understand ifyes reward all the useful replies and close

Thanks a lot pradeep four your reply/explanation,
I am using special procurement key 40, i have done the appropriate settings as told by you. I have maintained special procurement key 40 for component X1 in plant 1400 and set its procurement type as "F". In plant 1200 I have maintained component X1 with no special procurement type & procurement type as "E".
Initially there is no stock of X1 in both the plants, I enter PIR for header material X & run its MRP in plant 1400. Result of this MRP is planned order for X in plant 1400 & planned order for X1 in plant 1200. The system is not creating automaticaly a planned order for stock transfer or a stock transport requisition in plant 1400 and a release order for the planned ordr or purchase requisition in plant 1200.
In plant 1400, you convert the stock transport requisition into ta stock trasport order. When doing this, the release order in plant 1200 is automatically converted into a purchase order..
In the planning run in plant 1400 has created a planned order for stock transfer, you must convert this into a purchase requisition and then convert this into a purchase order.
Your valuable inputs are highly required.

Hi,
In 1200 plant if X1 material production is only for 1400 plant, you can use spl.procurement key 80.
If X1 material production is not only for 1400 plant, in 1200 plant itself they are selling means you can use spl.procurement key 40. ie, stock transfer.
Production planned in 1200 separately but 1400 only doing procurement means use 40.

Dharma
Hi
Please check with SPK 40 settings at SPRO.
Have u maintained delivery Plant as 1200 under the Special Procurement tab.
Please also check with Header material (X) planned order for BOM Components list (X1)
Do u able to see the palnned order for rest of the components like X2,X3..etc at Plant 1400

Thanks Pradeep for your input,
As mentioned by you I have already maintained delivering plant as 1200 for special procurementy type "40" & in the planned order for header material X, I am able to see X1 as a component. Where am going wrong am unable to race out, require your valuable inputs in this area. Thanks again for your guuidance.

Hi jithu,
1. Create BOM, Routing for material X in planning plant 1400 and Maintain spl. procurement key 40 in mrp2 view for stock transfer ( procurement from alternate plant )
2.Maintain BOM & Routing for X1 in production plant 1200 maintain procurement key as " E "
3.Carry out mrp run in 1400 and create deman so system create planned order for 1200 and convert into
production order in 1200 as well in 1400 plant. System will post GR in Plant 1200 and Good issue in 1400 plant
clear please come back if there is any doubts and the scenario was tested in quality giving 100%
result oriented. pl award marks

Hi,
I hope, the SPRO settings at SPK 40 is fine.
I think the header material BOM is not exploded at plant 4000.
Again Run the MRP with Planning Mode 2 / 3.
Please check with below points.
Any dep requirements have created for Component X1 at MRP view.
For component X2 ,do u able to see prc proposals at Md04.
Please check and comback
Regards
Pradeep
Thanks a lot Pradeep for your reply,
The bom is getting exploded, dependent requirement of component X1 is getting created in plant 1200 along with its planned order, but along with this stock trasport requisition for the component must be created in plant 1400 when we run MRP for header material X in plant 1400, this is not happening which is troubling me a lot. Shall be waiting for your valuable inputs again.

Hi,
For SPK 40, system will create dep requirements & stcok transport req / planned order at planning plant
In prod plant it will create Pur.requistion release and Planned order.
Here my question is how to u able to see the dep requirements at plant 1200.
What is the status in Md04 for X1 at plant 1400.(any dep req).
I hope u have maitained PT = F and SP = U & delivery plant & kept rest of the settings are blank for SPK at SPRO.
Please cehck with MRP view of component at plant 1400. like MRP type and Dep requiremets field at MRP2 view.
Do one small testing remove the SPK40 for component (X1) at plant 1400 and run the MRP and see results at Md04.
Please try and comeback
Pradeep
