DTPs for Corporate Memory

Hi All,

In the new HANA Optimized BI content, corporate memory ADSO are positioned as in the below picture.

With this design, will there be two DTPs extracting data from the source system? i.e, DTPs to /IMO/CMFIAP30 and /IMO/D_FIAP30 are both getting data from datasource 0FI_AP_30 only. So, when you execute them, data will be extracted twice? Also, how would that work with Delta extraction?

I am not sure I am understanding the new architecture correctly. Can you please help me understand it better?

    Hi Bijesh

    The way I understood is that the DSO : /IMO/CMFIAP30 is the acquisition layer containing all fields of datasource without exclusion thereby sufficing the need for reload/reconstruction of data flow within BW itself rather than extracting it from source system.

    The delivered transformation connecting this DSO and the Infosource is to be used during reconstruction purpose.

    The data flow to DSO: /IMO/D_FIAP30 is the regular flow of data using the datasource with update mode as delta.

      Thanks for the answer.

      Since we do not have PSAs in BW/4HANA, regardless of the structure of the ADSOs, both DTPs have to perform extraction from the ODP datasource, right? Or is there any method to perform the datasource extraction only once, and populate two ADSOs with the same data?

    Hi Bijesh,

    in case you decide to use the corporate memory AND load data directly into the /IMO/D_FIAP30, there will be two DTP with extractions of basically the same data from the source system. However each DTP has its own subscription in the source system, hence will get its own delta packages.

    You can also go and load into the corporate memory first and from there into the /IMO/D_FIAP30, resulting in only one extraction from the source system.

    Please also have a look at the Purchasing line items data flow (below /IMO/D_PUR11). Here you can find a "more PSA-like" DSO (advanced) /IMO/O_PUR11, which you could model into your data flows.
