Dear Priyanka,

Working Day Calendar - Configuration Guide

To find this activity, go to the Business Configuration work center and choose the Implementation Projects view. Select your implementation project and click Open Activity List. Select the Fine-tuning phase, then select the Working Day Calendar activity from the activity list.

In this configuration activity, you can create a new working day calendar with reference to an existing working day calendar. You can also create a new holiday that is specific to your region or country, assign it to a new holiday calendar, and then assign the holiday calendar to a working day calendar.

Create a New Working Day Calendar with a New Holiday

Overview

If you need to define a new holiday in your company because none of the existing holidays fulfill your requirements, for example, you want to define 24 December as a full-day holiday for your employees rather than the standard half-day that is currently defined, you do so in the fine-tuning activity Working Day Calendar with the following process: To find this activity, go to the Business Configuration work center and choose the Implementation Projects view. Select your implementation project and click Open Activity List. Select the Fine Tune phase, then select the Working Day Calendar activity from the activity list.

a. Create a new holiday calendar with a new holiday

b. Assign the holiday calendar to a new working day calendar

c. Assign the new working day calendar to the relevant business residence in Organizational Management

-------
Prerequisites

You have authorization to maintain business configuration settings and to edit the org structure.

Procedure

1.Create a new holiday calendar with a new holiday

a. In the Business Configuration work center, open the fine-tuning activity Working Day Calendar.

b. Under Main Actions, click Create a new holiday calendar.

c. On the New Holiday Calendar screen, select the relevant country and click Next.

d. Enter a code starting with Z and a name for the holiday calendar.

e. Select a country from the dropdown list and either:

  • Select an existing holiday from the list and add it to the Selected Holidays table using the right arrow.

  • Note

If you want to check the details of a specific holiday in the list to see whether it meets your requirements, select the holiday and click Display.

  • If none of the holidays meet your requirements, define a new holiday by clicking Add.
  • 2.Create a new holiday

    a. Specify a unique name and description for the new holiday.

    Tip

If you have different companies with different holiday schedules, indicate this in the name you assign to the new holiday.

    b. Select the holiday class: full-day (ordinary public holiday) or half-day holiday. For example, specify that your new holiday December 24 is a full-day holiday.

    c. Select the holiday type.

  • If you select Fixed Date, enter the day and month of the holiday in the Fixed Date Details section. You should also specify whether the holiday is guaranteed even when it falls on a weekend. Move the holiday forwards or backwards as required.
  • If you select Fixed Day of Week, select the day of the week and month of the holiday. For example, you can specify that the new holiday is on the First Friday of November.
  • If you select Distance to Easter, specify the numbers of days of the holiday before or after Easter.
  • If you select Floating Holiday, specify the date of the holiday in the Floating Holiday Details section.

  • d. Click OK to save your entries. If necessary, remove the duplicate holiday from the holiday calendar that has now been replaced by your new holiday.

    e. Result: You have created a holiday and a new holiday calendar. You must now assign the holiday calendar to a new working day calendar.

3.Create a new working day calendar and assign the holiday calendar to it

    a. In the fine-tuning activity Working Day Calendar, click Create new working day calendars and select the country or countries for which it is valid. Do so by selecting one or more entries from the list and clicking the arrow.

    b. Click Next and select the holiday calendar you want to assign.

    c. Click Next and specify the workdays that apply.

    d. Enter a unique name for your new calendar.

    e. Review the data and click Finish to save your new calendar.

4.Assign the new working day calendar to the relevant business residence in Organizational Management

    a. In the Organizational Management work center, click Edit Org Structure under Common Tasks.

    b. Select the business residence and on the General tab, select your new working day calendar from the list.

    c. Save your entries.

    I hope this should help.

    Hi

Thank you...But for a year I can create a new holiday assign a type a Floating holiday and I'll add the dates according to 2nd and 4th satrdy. What about future years? I again have to create new holidays for coming years.

This is a manufacturing company, in a month 1st week has 6 working days and 2nd week 5 working days. Similarly, 3rd week 6 working days and 4th week 5 working days. So how to we do this, apart from creating new holiday calendar is there any other way to do this? and actually while creating the new working calendar we have the option to tick the days like mon, tue, wed etc. so how it is going to work do we have to tick on satrdy or not?
