T90CLNT090 vs E61CLNT###

Hi

I am doing exercises in BW courses. In several exercises, Customizing Extractors in T90CLNT090 (in the BI Source System Folder) are required which in turn requires logging in a new 800 client. When I use the user name and password of my BI system access (which has 001 client) I am not able to login.

However, I have access to another R/3 client named E61CLNT### (in the SAP Source System Folder). Can I use this instead of T90CLNT090 to Customize Extractors? Do both of these have same functionalities? If I cannot use E61CLNT### in place of T90, what is the best way to access T90 client?

Hi,

Chk for the source system connectivity with BW.(Go to source system -> Right click on R/3 source system -> Check)

Customizing extractors should be done in R/3 (Source system)..you can directly log in to ur source system..customise it and then replicate it to BW..and then u can develop ur ODS/cubes..and load data

Thanks for your response. The T90 source system is inactive and I cannot connect. But there several other active or connectable R/3 source systems. My question is if T90 source system is unique that I can use only that where the exercises ask to use?

Sorry..I dont know what exercise/book ur following...I just gave u general idea....Chk for ur R/3 connection is ok w.r.t BW..if its fine then u can customize ur extractors..if you have multiple R/3 systems?? then choose one which has connection established and then start extracting

I am having the same problem . Did you resolve it ? I have E66 CLNT 090 as my linked source system. Any suggestions will be appreciated with points.
