CR Cache - error occured while creating a subprocess in processing server.

Few of our crystal reports are giving An error occured while creating a subprocess in processing server.

We have 3 CMS nodes in our environments with 2 crystal cache servers each node.Over all 6 crystal cache servers.

I am able to resolve this issue if i shutdown 5 cache servers and keep only 1 running on one node. I have few queries related to this issue.

1)What does SAP recommends about number of crystal caches on each node?

2)Can we have only one cache for complete environment ?

Thanks,

Vikram

You should mention the version of the product you're using....

1. 1 per crystal processing server is the usual recommendation, but the proper sizing is the actual way to determine how many you need.

https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/Sizing+and+Deploying+SAP+BusinessObjects+BI+4.x+Platform+...

2. you can. but not a good idea.

We are having an issue with Crystal Reports 2013 running on SAP BO 4.1 SP4.

I tested the processing servers and cache server individually by creating a server group and running a report against it.I didnt find any issue with the servers.

But the issue is intermittent ,is it a memory isssue "An error occured while creating a subprocess in processing server"

Thanks

if the issue intermittent and you think its memory related - monitor your server memory, if the high memory utilization on the machine corresponds with CR issues - time to revisit server sizing.
