Stock transfer not falling in QM stock

Hi gurus,

I am receiving material from other plant via STO. after executing GR against corresponding delivery, I would expect the stock to fall in quality, as we have activated inspection type 08 i.e. stock transfer inspection. However, the stock is directly landing into unrestricted status. Can you please help to understand if there are some more settings needed than this?

Hi Craig,

Thanks for your inputs. I checked again and found that all settings asked by you were in place. However, "preferred" flag was not active for stock transfer inspection. Once I set that, the stock is falling into quality. It's bit strange, but it works:). Fortunately, we only have STO for this material. I am wondering what would happen in a scenario where the material is also purchased from external vendor.

You don't indicate if the inspection lot was created at all. If the lot was created, then in the 08 inspection type set up did you click on the "post to QI stock" indicator?

If no lot is generated make sure that the "activated" indicator is set for the 08 inspection lot. Many people add the inspection type but forget to click the activate button.

Lastly, make sure no info records have been set up that specifically exclude the supplying plant from quality inspection.

And did you use brand new STO's to test? its best to create these from scratch with no reference to req. or contract.
