Trouble installing Crystal Reports for Visual Studio Professional 2015

Former Member

Are there specific installation instructions in order to get this software working?

The installation works fine, but the user can't add any Crystal Reports items to their projects. The plugins show up when you select 'Choose Toolbox Items', so I'm assuming they installed correctly.

The user also has SAP Crystal Reports 2013 installed.

Any ideas?

It depends on what they are trying to install.

Get it from here:

https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/Crystal+Reports%2C+Developer+for+Visual+Studio+Downloads

They must be using SP 15 or higher.

SP 21 is the latest, I suggest using it and install the EXE on the DEV PC, don't install the redist packages on the DEV PC.

I appreciate the reply, but that's what I've tried so far to no avail.

The .exe is the topmost file on the download page (yellow rectangle), correct?

I'm not too familiar on the software, and I don't believe the user that I'm installing the software for is either. My job is only to install the software on the user's computer. But I've been given the task to configure it as well apparently.

And to clarify, this plugin will not work with community edition? I don't have a license on my computer for Visual Studio Pro, so I installed Community 2017 to see if I could get it to work on a fresh copy, but I had the same results.

What file types can I use SAP Crystal Reports in Visual Studio. Sorry for the many questions.

Correct, that installs onto the DEV PC.

Must install by right clicking on the setup.exe and selecting Run As Administrator

Download page has all of the info. And known issues with 32 bit OS's.

Community version is supported.
