BPC5 - SP2 refresh errors

Former Member

Hi,

I have recently installed SP2 and have found a number of baffling errors that materialise within our customised reports. Essentially, the data within the report does not refresh, and shows a result of '0' within the cell (not even #RFR!). It only seems to deliver this result within cells that contain an EVGTS (or EVGET) formula. However, when a dynamic report template is opened (e.g. 'Any by Any'), the report shows no errors and displays the correct data from the database.

We have tried numerous different approaches to resolving the issue, including creating a copy of the appset, re-processing dimensions, various refresh techniques, etc. but we cannot resolve it.

Any advice/guidance or fellow sympathisers welcome.

Many thanks.

Thank you for your responses. This query has now been resolved through the release of SP3 from SAP.

Just to be sure I'm clear on you issue, you have existing reports that were working and now are not after the SP2 install but you can run an any-by-any in the same application and it works. Correct? Is this happening on all clients or just specific machines? When you say these are "customized" reports, can you be more specific? Are you just referring to the report layouts or are you doing think with VBA etc?

There is also a BPC 5.1 SP2 patch that may assist in solving the issue. There are numerous questions that I would ask to troubleshoot the problem. I would test this in Apshell as well, to verify if the behavior is consistent across appsets. Then I advise you to do the following, if possible, download the patch and apply; re-test the issue. If it persists, I would open a support ticket. I know it is not a detailed analysis, but at a minimum, verify and document what types and names of templates you have the behavior.

For instance, is it not working on an EVDRE sheet that contains EVGTS or EVGET. Is it in a simple Trend Wizard? Does it work on a basic EVDRE? All of these questions will be or should be asked by support.
