SAP BI Quality system appearing in SAP folder and not in BI folder in RSA1

Former Member

Dear SAP experts,

We recently did a system refresh of our BI 3.5 Quality system QED from the BI 7.0 Production system PED .We ran the BDLS for all the connected source system that were to QED.

But after this i find that in RSA1 under "source system" , myself source system QED is appearing in the SAP folder and not in BI folder. Because of this we are not able to do data loads with in the system.

I am not able to create the QED source system under the BI folder as it already exists. For all the other system in the landscape the BI system are appearing in the BI folder in RSA1.

Hi ,

Thanks for your response.

I had run the BDLS for PED > QED and have checked the spools where all the table till Z* was converted.

However i find that in table RSBASIDOC there are 2 entries which may be the problem.

Source system DWH System Object Status Basic type Source system type

QEDCLNT010 PEDCLNT010 ACT ZSOA001 M

QEDCLNT010 QEDCLNT010 ACT ZSQN040 3

Please can ypou suggest whether can be the problem and what can be done to correct this.

Thansk a lot for your suggestion.

KUldeep.

Hi Kuldeep:

Sorry for the delay...

You can try and run function RSAP_BIW_DISCONNECT_40 in BW QA. That would delete the entries in RSBASIDOC.Just specify as parameters the systems.

Right now your BW QA is connected in that table to your R/3 Prod. Is that right or you need it to connect to R/3 QA?

Before doing that just take a screenshot of the table, to have it for reference, just in case.

Then you can re-create the "myself" Source System.

Hope this helps.

Luis

I have a similar issue - the SCM source system is under the SAP folder but I want to move it to the BI folder. after i tried the steps following by your suggestions and Note 1087980:

Ran the function module RSAP_BIW_DISCONNECT (or RSAP_BIW_DISCONNECT_40) in the source SCM system, the entry was deleted in table RSBASIDOC; the source system connention check was disable in BI system;

But after restore the source system, it still shows under SAP folder.

What should I do exactly for moving this SCM source system name from SAP to BI folder?

Thanks a lot!

The issue resolved.

This because the source system client was not set up as a BW client.

Solution:

1. go to the source system client, run SE16, open the table RSADMINNA, open the entry "BW", in "BWMANDT" field enter your BW system client number;

2. in source system client, run SE37, FM RSAP_BIW_DISCONNECT to delete the entry of table RSBASIDOC and then disable this source system connection with BW system;

3. go to BW client, RSA1, check this source system connection - will be failed; restore it from the original place; it will go to BI folder

Hi Kuldeep,

When you ran BDLS, did you run it for PED to be converted to QED?

What about R/3? Did you also run BDLS to convert all instances of "R/3 Prod" to "R/3 QA"?

I'm asking because I got a little confused with the first part "We ran the BDLS for all the connected source system that were to QED". It just might look like you also converted "R/3 Prod" to QED in which case it's wrong but it makes sense it shows under the SAP Folder and not BI.

Please let me know.

Luis
