Dear Expert ,

We having issue with our SAP application reading backup IP . We have 2 network card in Windows Server 2012 . DB is Db2 10.5 .

1st NIC - X.X.X.95 ( SAP Application IP ) ( SOLMAN 7.2 SP3 )

2nd NIC - X.X.X.65 ( backup IP )

Action taken :

1. We have follow the step as reference https://archive.sap.com/discussions/thread/3616314 but still failed .

2. Disabled the 2nd NIC , cannot bring up SAP system as the hostname is searching for 2nd NIC IP .

3. Even declared the IP in the etc/hosts , pinging still refer to backup IP ( 2nd NIC ) .

We are welcome if anyone would share any solution or opinion .

Thanks & Regards,

Lynn

Hello Lynn,

please take a look at these SAP notes:

2109662 - Windows returns wrong IP address as source IP

and

1841151 - Windows Server 2012 (and higher) - different NIC order

Without a detailed analysis of your problem (complete IP addresses, IPconfig, netstat -rt, ...) it's impossible to help you.

Best regards,

Kalle
