Physical sample linked to 2 inspection lots. Need to assign it to other one

Hi QM experts.

In our process a physical sample got linked to two inspection lots. Screenshot shown below. Now in QPRS table the physical sample is shown linked to the latest one (The one ending with 26100) we need to change this such that it is linked back to the old one and the same is seen in QPRS table.

Any suggestions on how to do this?

Have you gone to QA02 and tried to cancel the lot?

Inspection Lot-->Functions-->Cancel Lot

Hi Craig - Not yet.

Do you think this will assign the physical sample to the first one?

The first sample is already assigned to the first one. You can't create a lot with a 15 lot origin without assigning a sample number. Right now you just have two lots for the same sample. The first one isn't de-assigned or anything.

Wait a minute.. I just noticed it looks like you are using an 89 inspection lot.

How are you creating these inspection lots?

Normally for samples we create inspection lots from QPR2 or QPR5.

Why the 89? How are you picking the sample number?

Craig - We have an action boxes on a service notification for first creating the physical samples and then creating the inspection lot which gets linked to the physical sample. Custom program are written and linked to these action boxes.

Usually once an inspection lot is created the action box grey out but in this one instant it dint and the user was allowed to create two inspection lots and the second is assigned to the physical samples now.

Ok. In that case, I'm not sure how much I can help you since it's using all custom code. Standard SAP uses inspection type 15 to reinspect previous pulled samples.

So my guess is that you might be able to use QA02 do cancel the unwanted lot. But outside of that I have no idea how it will impact anything else you have going on since it appears to be a custom design.
