Hello Experts,

My client has a Enterprise HANA license but no BW license. I wish to leverage SAP standard extractors for real time physical data replication into HANA studio (Natively). SAP ECC and CRM are not on HANA but on oracle database.

1) Can I do it with ODQ in source system and using ABAP adapter of SDI replicate real time into HANA

2) Or I have to use ODQ as source for SLT to replicate real time into Native HANA

3) Or I have to use DXC only. But I understand DXC does not support real time replication.

Which are feasible options ? Note that customer has no BW license. I do not wish to do fragmented table extraction. For example VBAP, VBAK, VBUP, VBUK, etc.

Regards,

Mihir

Hi Mihir,

without using the BW or BW/4HANA you have the following options:

Besides that you will find more information regarding the usage of ODP/ODQ here:

Hi Gordon,

Thank you for your detailed insights, appreciate it. Without using the BW or BW/4HANA I understand fro you that ODP can be used in conjunction with SDI (ABAP adapter) and also SAP data Services. But can they provision data into HANA database on real time basis ?

What are the methods to leverage SAP extractors for real time data provisioning in SAP HANA (Non-BW) ?

Regards,

Mihir

Hi Mihir,

SLT:

Using the ODP infrastructure and the trigger-based replication of SAP Landscape Transformation Replication Server (SAP LT Replication Server), data can be transferred in real time from an ABAP system to one or more data warehouse systems. SAP LT Replication Server acts as a provider for the ODP infrastructure. It can make tables from SAP sources available as delta queues. This provider implementation is available with DMIS 2011 SP5 and SAP NetWeaver 7.30 SP8.

Hi Gordon,

Thanks again for your reply. I understand from you at the SLT can be the provider for the ODP infrastructure. But can standard BW extractors be a source for SLT to populate ODQ on real-time basis. I believe all the fragmented tables can be the source for SLT but not BW extractors.

The requirement is because BW extractors are semantically very rich (especially the LO extractors) and if they can provision data into native HANA on real-time basis we get best of the 2 worlds. i.e. semantic richness + real time provisioning into HANA database.

Mihir

Hi Mihir,

in generell SLT as well as SLT-ODP is based on tables to replicate source tables into e.g. BW. SAP Standard Extractors are not supported for SLT replication.

So SLT is positioned for real time (trigger-based) data replication from ABAP and non-ABAP sources (SAP NetWeaver supported databases only) and is mainly recommended for real-time data replication business scenarios.

HTG you can found here:
