Migration Strategy from PI 7.4 (Single stack) to PO 7.5

Hi All,

Our client is migrating from PI 7.4 single stack to PO 7.5 (PI + BPM + BRM) and B2B-Add on Installation , need your inputs for the below queries

1) To start with , this could be a basic question but wanted to check first of all what is the latest SP of PO 7.5 ?

where can I check what is the latest SP released by SAP , can you please provide me the direct link for it

2) I have read that SAP suggests to install the latest SP-1 rather than installing latest SP?

Can we install the latest SP which is one month old or go with the latest SP -1?

3) Migration Strategy sequence of steps: Let me know the below migration strategy is correct.

Since we are migrating the interfaces(Total count of interfaces is 20) from PI 7.4 single stack(no BPM interfaces) to PO 7.5 , I guess we can directly do it by transports rather than using Directory Content management tool?

- Export and import the Products , SWCV , Technical Systems , Business systems from PI 7.4 PRD system to PO 7.5 Sandbox system

- Export and Import the Repository and Directory objects from PI PRD to PO Sandbox system.

Does the above sequence of steps is enough or do we need to consider anything more?

Please provide the detailed steps that needs to taken in to account if I missed anything.

Thanks & Regards,

    Hi Sai,

    1. Latest SP is 09 for 7.5.

    2. Yes, it's not a good idea to have the latest SP because there may be few bugs which you may identify once you start using it. So it's better not to have the latest SP. You can install the SP of your wish no such restriction.

3.As you have very less no of interfaces and without BPM then it should be pretty straightforward. You can export the SLD, ESR, and ID in the same sequence and import into new 7.5 servers.

As this is migration hence there will be extra few tasks which need to be done outside PO box, like setting up New Proxy/IDOC communication in ERP. Setting up new plugin rule if any existing to the new server at firewall/reverse proxy. Change at the third party side to re-direct messages to the new server, getting newly CA signed SSL certificates etc.
