Hi Divya,

just go through following Lines.

Design Time and Runtime

Visual Composer is a design-time software tool in which you can develop an application and then deploy it. After deployment, you can run the actual application in the portal to check its runtime functionality. During model creation and configuration, you define all the runtime attributes of the model components, such as the frame of a table, the size and types of toolbar buttons and the format of an output form. You can also define a range of properties of the actual Visual Composer design-time tools, such as the use of a background grid or the placement of the various toolboxes used with each board.

Runtime Environments

Models designed in Visual Composer can be deployed to run in one or more technology engines, including Web Dynpro and Flex. The same model can be deployed to more than one environment, although not all components and controls are fully supported in each. Models deployed to Flex can run on a range of browsers, including Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape and Firefox.

Visual Composer implements a proprietary XML-based Visual Composer Language as its source code for creating the models. Only at deployment is the model actually compiled into the executable code required by the selected UI technology. The result is a “model once – run anywhere” capability.

Hi Govindu,

I am using Visual Composer sp15. I have an application which retieves data from a webservice and display the data on to a Table using Flex2 runtime. Can i deploy the application on Webdynpro Runtime? What difference it makes if i deploy the application on webdynpro runtime?

I read that wd4vc supports only webservice as "data services". Is it so? Also webdynpro runtime supports lots of components

than Flex 2 runtime environments for create consistent and professional ui's as per sap standards.

What does it mean? How does it help in creating Ui's? What is the advantage of deploying an application using wedynpro runtime rather than the Flex2 Runtime? Can you please explain on this? I am not getting a clear idea about this?

Hi,

Decision whether to go for webdynpro or Flex2 is based on your rewuirement.

now SAP not supports WD4Vc runtime they supports only flex runtime only i think from SP15 or SP16 .

the difference is look and fell and the Flex supports more UI components than Webdynpro and also it supports more backends service compared wd which supports only Webservices..

hope this is clear to u

Hi,

I would just like to point out that in Visual Composer CE (7.1 and above) there is only Web Dynpro runtime available. This runtime includes WD HTML runtime and WD Flex runtime (which is Web Dynpro rendered in Flash).

It seems that this question/discussion is related to Visual Composer 7.0x.

Best regards,

Tal.

Hi Divya,

Try reading the "Design Time and Runtime" section in the [Visual Composer Concepts|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/055d394c09048ae10000000a155369/frameset.htm] page to understand what is the connection between VC and Web Dynpro. If you like to know more about Web Dynpro application you can read the [Web Dynpro for Java|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/055d394c09048ae10000000a155369/frameset.htm] page.

I hope it helps.
