Hi,

Kindly answer the following:-

Q. Do we Release the DP to both R/3 & SNP or any one of these and what triggers this action?

Q. From a technical point of view, you copy the data from the liveCache time series objects into a forecast category of the liveCache orders. What is a Live Cache time series and a Live cache order?

Q. What is the significance of APODPDANT key figure ?

Thanks,

The Invincible

1. you can release to to either one or both.... depending on what you will be using it for and the rest of the functionality you are using in APO

This is usually triggered by an activity.... release to SNP for eg is through transaction /sapapo/mc90 (or could be through a mass processing job)

2. In simple terms, LC time series are numbers in period buckets where are LC order series are individual entries at a Location product level that will be a requirement, reciept or stock. So when you release forecast at a product location level (without any consumption group) in a daily bucket for product A in location B in bucket 01/01/01 you get an order of type FA for Product A location B with reqmt date 01/01/01 and time XX:YY:ZZ (time and date can be influenced) which is a requirement element.

3. APODPDANT is the default KF for proportional factor calculation.Proportional factor calculation is used in many cases to determine how to disaggregate demand(or any other KF) at a aggregate level into the lowest level. while setting up Kf in planning are we would determine KF disaggregation and depending on the business process use APODPDANT. APODPDANT becomes a guiding KF and is itself calculated based on many other inputs, usually a KF representing history)

there is detailed discussion on these topics in the SCM5.0 help under demand planning, in case you are interested
