Restrict Last name field in customer master while updating in CRM from ECC

Hi Experts,

I have a client requirement where i need to restrict the update in "Last Name" field in BP Master. Data is coming from ECC to CRM. I have checked the BDoc and "Name1" field contains the data which is getting updated in CRM Business Partner Last Name field for Individual Account. And also, restriction has to be done for a particular ACCOUNT GROUP.

I understand that User Exit can be written in ECC side to block it. But not sure, under which Event (Is it )we should write the Exit and in which table we should map, Like TBE34 or TBE31 may be.

Please help, My requirement is to restrict the update in Last Name field in BP Master for account group XXXX. Any SAP Note or any other suggestion will help. Please let me know if any further information required.
