Web Dynpro Application connecting to incorrect R/3 instance

Hi,

We have newly configured EP.

We are facing strange problem with web dynpro applications.

They are accessing data from incorrect instance of R/3 system,i.e, if correct system instance is x , they are accessing data from y instance, on the same R/3 server.

We have checked JCO connections. SID in JCO connection is of the correct instance.

We have also checked SLD, but are not able to find out the root cause of the problem.

Strange part is all the transaction iViews are connecting to correct instance of R/3.

Can anyone help on this?

Thanks in advance,

Apurva

Hi,

Any help?

We checked all SLD parameters. All are correct.

We also exported the technical system from old SLD and imported it to new SLD.Still it is pointing to incorrect instance.

Are there any other configuration, settings required? Are there any settings required on R/3 side?

Can we some how track entire process from JCO to R/3?

What happens after fetching server details from SLD? Is there any other step before connecting to R/3?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Hi Harish,

Thanks for the reply.

We checked technical system in SLD.

Parameters System id, Host, System Number,Client are correct.

However, database tab in the technical system is disabled.

What is the significance of the this tab?

Can it be the root cause behind the problem?

Regards,

Apurva.

Dear friend,

Transaction Iviews make use of connections define in system landscape in system configuration.

JCO Connections make use of technical system defined in SLD.

Do one thing

logon on to http://host:port/sld of your Portal. Here navigation to technical system.

Check the properties of your techical system.

All the following points should match

1. System id

2. Host

3. System Number

4. Client

Check up and find out.Surely there will be a mistake somewhere here, if your web dynpro application is working fine and only plcae its having a problem is fetching from wrong system. Also you have two types of JCO Connection for each sap system.Check if both are are pointing to the correct technical system in sld.

I am simplying the are of problem for you. Just narrow down here and look for the problem. Dint confuse with transaction iviews. They are a different story

Regards,

Harish

Apurva,

Check what does the BAPI do? Does it fetch correct data?
