SAP Personas 3.0 SP05/WebUI - F4 Search Helps not working correctly

Good afternoon, We are having problems with F4 Search Helps not working correctly. We have pre-defined parameters in some of Search Helps (to include and exclude specific values) which are not displaying in the Personas Flavours. I have also observed that in the Original Transaction screen (via WebUI) it is also not working correctly.

Correct behaviour in GUI below, excludes Values G, L & NU, Includes EN, 2010 and Deletion Indicator 'blank'

Incorrect behaviour in Personas/WebUI below, selection options are not consistent, values for Status have been removed with only last value remaining, however as a selection not as an exclusion and deletion indicator is not selected to 'blank'

I don't want to enhance the search helps in anyway via Personas, I just want them to work as they do in the GUI. Anyone have similar problems they've been able to resolve?

Hi Jason,

this is a limitation from the WEBGUI side (hence it is also a limitation from the Personas as well)

Hi Oisin,

Thanks for the info.

I have performed some further investigation and testing and found that changing the F4 Help Display from Control (amodal) to Diaglog (modal) that the behaviour of the search window is what I desire and multiple selection is possible.

Can you please advise if there is a setting that can be made to ensure when using GUI for HTML that the F4 Help is set to Dialog regardless of User Preference in GUI?

Hi Oisin,

Thank you for the further information. I have reviewed this note and understand the setting can be made globally and then maintained per User, however as this is at the discretion of the user it's undesirable.

With the previous version of Personas it was possible to force the Modal method via the Silverlight Client (please see OSS Note 1885506).

I'm hoping there is an equivalent option in the latest version of Personas (3 SP5) which forces at time of execution the Dialog (modal) F4 Search Help, either at a Personas level or even down to Flavour level. Are you able to advise?

Hi Jason,

no such note exists with Personas 3 because both Amodal and Modal mode options are available(with limitations) via the WEBGUI hence also available with Personas.

Then note Personas Silverlight

just sets to Dialog (modal) by default as Personas Silverlight client does not support Control(amodal) based F4 help.

an administrator can switch the system defaults so that end users will not be able to revert.
