How can you activate change history on Batch Search Strategy (VCH1, VCH2)?

I need to activate the change history on Batch Search Strategy however have not found where to activate this.

This is not as easy as you might think.

Looking into this very fresh OSS note 2478352 - Condition Change Log Report might give you an impression.

VCH1 / VCH2 is actually maintaining condition tables, and with a few delivered exceptions most of the condition tables are created by yourself to match your local needs. So it is not so easy to write programs which can analyze records from tables where it is unknown about what fields they will have.

For the usual change history as you can see it in customer or material master you need to have a piece of coding that captures the changes and writes them to the change log tables CDHDR and CDPOS.

You can activate table change logs in SE11 for your condition tables, those changes will then be stored in DBTABLOG and you can display them with transaction SCU3, like the change logs from the customizing.
